PETROL ADDITIVES
ETHANOL ADDITIVES UPDATE: Following from last month’s announcement that the FBHVC has endorsed a
selection of products to give our cars some protection from the ravages of
the new levels of ethanol in petrol, both Roger Ballard and myself bought a
bottle of the Millers VSPe Power Plus from Halfords at £6.99. However, to
both our concern, we discovered that half a bottle should be added to every
tank
And, as a bonus, Flexolite is a company owned by our wheel man James Wheildon’s wife, Sue, and they live round the corner from me. So, as well as delivering wheels, I am willing to buy bottles of Ethanolmate for members and bring them to clubnight. However, you can order them directly by post at £15 each including VAT and postage by ringing 01722-712829
See www.flexolite.co.uk for more details.
“Added to the tank when refuelling Ethanolmate provides excellent protection against possible corrosion through increased acidity which can occur when petrol is stored for any length of time. Dispensed from a plastic bottle (with graduated optic) this is the simple way of protecting your vehicle. Ethanolmate can be used with leaded petrol, LRP, catalytic converters and octane boosters.

Dawes writes in the 750MC Bulletin: “I found a company called Rustbuster
and purchased a complete ‘Slosh Tank Seal Kit’ for cleaning and sealing the
tank. I found the kit easy to use and over the last 6 months have not
experienced any further fuel blockage problems. The company claims the
product has been tested with dilutions of up to 85% Corn Bio
The kit can be ordered on

StayUp Floats for SU Carburettors The SU Carburetter Company, (Burlen Fuel Systems Ltd), the world's sole manufacturers of all genuine new SU carburetters, fuel pumps and spares, have announced the introduction of a range of 'unsinkable' floats made by StayUp®. The floats have been developed alongside the successful release of a similar design by The AMAL Carburetter Company for their motorcycle carburettors. They are constructed from a military spec material designed for use in the warzone where a fail safe operation of floating devices is critical. The material which is foam filled, will continue to float even when punctured and is resistant to ethanol based fuels. All floats have been designed by SU to match the original specifications of size and weight for the standard items - this ensures easy replacement and float level settings. The first to be released are the large T4 and medium T2 size floats for most H, HV and HD type carburettors with the smaller T1 size coming soon. HS type carburettor versions are also available now. Prices are: HS Type - WZX 1304-£14.34 (inc VAT). These products are available from the SU website www. sucarb.co.uk, directly from Burlen’s in Salisbury (theSU Carburetter Company) tel: 01722 412500 or by e-mail at info@sucarb.co.uk Whilst in Burlen’s, I took in the float from my 1933/34 Box and the Man Who Does These Things said he was contemplating making these in the new anti-ethanol material but the smallest run was for 1000 items. I think I convinced him that, from the movement as a whole, we could easily absorb 1000 new floats for our Zenith carbs. Perhaps some of the bigger parts people such as Seven Workshop and others can contact Burlen’s to express their interest. Your editor is happy to collect items from Burlen’s and deliver them to you at club nights. (The editor is also not responsible for the spelling of carburetter – “it’s how we’ve always done it” (quote).)
