JULY 1976

NEW FOREST AUSTIN 7 GROUP

Secretarial

As a result of last month’s meeting it was decided to 'go it alone' from the Solent A.7 Club at least until the end of the year.

This means you've got to put up with me doing the organising bit until then. No complaints, I enjoy it!

This month’s meeting at the Nags is yet another run ending at the Royal Oak at North Gorley leaving at 8.30 approx., follow me if you want to get lost! If you come a little late take the A338 to Salisbury. The Royal Oak is signposted off that road just south of Fordingbridge.

No doubt all of us that went to Beaulieu had an enjoyable day - apart from the heat. I mustn't complain as it might not last much longer. The turn out from our members was very high. I must say Owen Legg's '27 Chummy certainly looked good on its first outing. Congratulations to Brian Pledger on his first class award. Others that were there were Gary & Derek Munn with their '30 Running Chassis, John Page with his Mulliner, Roger Ballard with his '31 Saloon, Lawrence Rideal with his '33 Box, Vic Steel with his Opal and Nigel

Ricardo with his Nippy — wot no Rubys?

I don't know whether you saw it but No: 261 the '23, Chummy unrestored was absolutely lovely, completely original apart from wrong carb.

I was very pleased with the response to my notice about the club on my windscreen. I even had somebody who produces the Austin 7 Journal asking me if we wanted free publicity.

John Page and Roger Ballard have got together to organise a Sunday afternoon run from the Nags Head to a Tea Rooms (a converted mill) in Salisbury - no date fixed yet but sometime next month.

Next Months Meeting - August 19th 8p.m.

An Austin 7 Quiz. Perhaps we can arrange two teams. I will try to sort out some questions and answers.
